Saw a very good article at townhall.com today: 'Five criticisms of George W. Bush that could better be applied to Obama.'
Also, saw this very well done ad at Youtube, which compares the Obama administration to Iran...

The Sarah Palin surprise
Like many, I am sure, I was shocked at Governor Sarah Palin's resignation announcement today. I was listening on the radio as the news broke, and then, as is expected with any news regarding Sarah Palin, was treated ad nauseum to one liberal pundit after another deriding the speech as 'incoherent' or 'rambling.' Of course, most were quite eager to proclaim that Sarah Palin had just committed 'political suicide.'
It didn't take long for me to realize that this is just the latest example of Sarah Palin doing what is right, and increasing my excitement at the thought of her potentially rising to national leadership.
As I have stated before, I strongly believe Sarah Palin is the best hope of all the likely Republican candidates to return the party to its Conservative roots, and to give the country the kind of presidency we had under Ronald Reagan. I believe many people in the country today, some democrats included, are looking for a 'real person' to run for president. I believe Sarah Palin would 'fill the bill' on this desire better than any other candidate SINCE Ronald Reagan. I know that people recognize this in her, as evidenced by the huge crowds she generates wherever she goes, despite the near constant media attacks on her.
If one listens to other likely candidates from our side, Mitt Romney or Mike Huckabee for example, while both could be excellent candidates, it doesn't take long for the average person to recognize by their mannerisms that they are 'typical' politicians. This is something that you do NOT notice with Sarah Palin. While certainly a politician, and I feel a very shrewd one, she does NOT come off as one, instead coming across much more like someone you could actually know and relate to, a trait I feel she shares with Ronald Reagan, and one that I feel will help her go very far if she chooses to.
But, in my opinion, probably the single most important thing in Sarah Palin's favor, is that as far as I know, there is no political decision she has made that could cause her to be accused of hypocrisy. I feel this fact alone is a big part of why the left fears her so much. Very few politicians actually have their publicly expressed views tested in ways that Sarah Palin has, most obviously with her public pro-life position, which of course matces up perfectly with her personal decision to keep a downs syndrome baby, and to support her daughter with an unplanned pregnancy and HER decision to keep the baby.
This is why I take her at her word in her announcement today, that a big factor in her decision was the near constant ethics attacks on her in Alaska. These attacks, which have led nowhere, are obviously nothing more than political witch hunts by liberals fishing for anything that could be used against her. Nonetheless, as she stated in her speech, these attacks are causing the state to spend tons of money investigating them, money that could be put to much better use. So now we see that Sarah Palin has been given another opportunity to take a personal stand on something that matches up perfectly with her public position, in this case wasteful government spending, and has again risen to the challenge and took action to put a stop to a problem, even if it means personal sacrifice.
I hope for the Republican parties sake, and most importantly the country's sake that Sarah Palin IS considering a run for president. It would be very refreshing to have a candidate that not only takes a strong stand on issues, but is willing to back them up by personal actions....

What a disappointment....
Watching all this Mark Sanford stuff breaking right now makes my blood boil. I half expect this kind of activity from the 'if it feels good, do it' democrats, but having it come from someone who pretended to be such a principled conservative is sickening.
If Mr. Sanford has one shred of decency left in him, he will immediately resign his post as governor, and disappear AGAIN. I hope the Republicans do not spend time trying to defend his behavior, as all that will accomplish is to make them look extremely hypocritical. Instead, they should do what democrats do NOT do in these situations, and immediately and loudly condemn his actions and demand his resignation....

Fairness?
By now, its a well-known fact that many liberals would love to see a return to the 'fairness doctrine', or something similar that would effectively silence Conservative talk radio.
I would love to ask some of the supporters of the fairness doctrine if their concern for 'fairness' extends to ABC's love-fest for the Obama health plan that will air tomorrow night, where Conservative opposition groups have not even been allowed to PURCHASE airtime to refute the ridiculous claims that will surely be made.
It seems to me that a company that PURPORTS to be a NEWS network, but effectively censors opposing views during a NEWS special is a LOT less 'fair' than a Conservative talk show, of which I have never heard one claim to be anything other than an OPINION show, but yet allow opposing views to be heard quite often in the form of guests and callers.
More blatant hypocrisy from the left, I suppose...

Un-American to buy American?
I found this article over at 'American Thinker' very interesting, which makes the case for boycotting GM and Chrysler, since they have now been effectively 'socialized' by the Obama administration.
I became aware of this article today after listening to Rush Limbaugh, who was denying a media report that he was behind a call for just such a boycott. In fact, he went out of his way to say that a boycott was something he would NOT support.
This is one of the VERY few times I have found myself in disagreement with Rush. I wish Rush, or a conservative leader of his caliber WOULD promote just such a boycott... Having purchased a new vehicle myself this past weekend, I had already came to the decision on my own that, despite the fact that there ARE some excellent deals to be had right now, there is NO way I will be purchasing a GM or Chrysler vehicle anytime in the foreseeable future....
As long as the government continues to have any stake in these companies, or the UAW for that matter, with their new found ownership stake, so obviously stolen and 'gifted' to them by Obama as a thanks for their support, I can not, in good conscience, and as a strong believer in free market capitalism, purchase one...
I sincerely hope that American consumers do not simply 'close their eyes' to the unbelievably UN-AMERICAN series of events that have transpired over the past few months. To ignore the fact that two iconic American companies have been nationalized as if we were living in the old Soviet Union or Venezuela, and simply return to 'business as usual' with them will only make things WORSE in the long run, I am afraid...
Official 'boycott' or not, I fear that if we do not 'vote with our pocketbook', and express our disgust with all this by purchasing from other companies (while we still can), we will only embolden the Obama administration, and the next round of nationalizations could make what is happening now pale in comparison....

Tell us something we don't know...
According to this article, Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez recently joked that after the nationalization of GM, he and Fidel Castro of Cuba might end up more 'to the right' of President Obama, or as Chavez called him, 'comrade Obama'.
What a surprise.....
What a surprise.....

Simply Unbelievable
Everyone should really read this article, published on the Russian news site Pravda, which discuses the demise of American capitalism. Unfortunately, I feel it contains a lot of truth. What is almost impossible for me to comprehend, is articles like this appearing in the foreign press, and the RUSSIAN press to boot. Where is the American media with stories like this?
Surely, some of the Obama voters who even remotely pay attention, are starting to have second thoughts...Can there really be very many people who could still be happy with their vote after witnessing an American president in just FOUR MONTHS nationalize entire industries as if we were living in Venezuela, spend money at such a rate that our children and grandchildren will be indebted for years to come, with nothing to show for it except the loss of American liberty, and happily announce in a speech that we "ain't seen nothing yet"?
The thought that there could be large numbers of such people left after what we have witnessed the last four months almost scares me more than the thought of the next 3 1/2 years.....
